"STATISTICS AT YOUR FINGER TIPS" is a user friendly socio-economic database developed by ECSECC. It provides the user with accurate and up-to-date statistics on demographics, economics, access to services, labour market, poverty and development indicators.
ECSECC stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, public and private sector development practitioners can freely download the information from this website.
The data is mainly sourced from StatsSA, with some data from Government Departments, Development Agencies, and ECSECC own data.
STATISTICS AT YOUR FINGER TIPS' comprehensive coverage and easy accessibility are some of the advantages that this tool offers. The database covers five areas for a period ranging between 1995 and 2013:
- National ( Republic of South Africa)
- Provincial (Eastern Cape)
- Eastern Cape Magisterial Districts (including Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality and Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality), and
- Eastern Cape Local Municipalities
ECSECC provides Government officials with basic training on how economic indicators are derived, interpreted and analysed for development and policy purposes. Local municipalities in the Eastern Cape are encouraged to use this database for planning purposes. This will enable a single data source point throughout the province.
STATISTICS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS is an excel spreadsheet with easy to use Census and other Statistical Information for the Eastern Cape Province.
While Statistic South Africa remains the main source of data, STATISTICS AT YOUR FINGER TIPS database also draws information from Government Departments, Development Agencies, and ECSECC own data.
